Hello LJ Land!
I got my N95 already. The long wait is over. It's camera would have to do while I save up for a DSLR.
Camwhore galore. x ) Hopefully this will help fatten my portfolio. x )
Mom's better, she has more control over her right leg and arm now, so that's good news.
We just have to maintain her medicines and make sure she drinks them on time.
I finally have Wicked! Miguel bought me the book as an uber belated birthday present.
I love the songs from the play and I wasn't doing justice to the story by just watching the rip-off play video we downloaded...
I needed to read the book... will report back when I've finished it. x )
I've been working at WorldPartner for 2 months now. The projects have been challenging and the hours work for me.
I'm going to try to fit in Danish and Dance classes on weekends.
I want to learn Danish! I can't take not understanding my bosses when they start using their native tongues.
I can't take not understanding, not knowing.
It kills me!
Besides, they have Filipino classes, so they're learning our language, now I want to learn theirs.
I can no longer kick-box because of my work sked so dance classes would have to suffice for the physical activity my body craves for.
Not being able to train feels horrible. I don't like it.
I'm still trying to convince people for a different training(kick-boxing) sked, really crossing my fingers for that one.
I still haven't seen the new CSI(las vegas) and CSI:NY seasons. My withdrawal is horrible.
Just yesterday some guy was watching episodes of CSI on his portable DVD player at the Starbucks in 6750 and I had to
push myself out the door to escape temptation (and spoilers).
_*_
I attended a Microsoft Seminar yesterday, that's why I was at 6750. It was supposed to be an Introduction to Silverlight.
Microsoft® Silverlight™ is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight offers a flexible programming model that supports AJAX, VB, C#, Python, and Ruby, and integrates with existing Web applications. Silverlight supports fast, cost-effective delivery of high-quality video to all major browsers running on the Mac OS or Windows.

Silverlight as
evangelists dub it, is the Flash killer. It was dead on arrival if you ask me. Apparently the seminar was a 2-day seminar wherein the first day(yesterday) was purely on the
design aspects and values of Silverlight.
That was BS.
Yesterday's seminar was more of a product demo on Microsoft Expression Studio. A very bad product demo at that.
For the benefit of all, Expression Studio is Microsoft's feeble attempt at getting a bite off the design market.
As we all know CS3 is well on its way and everyone's waiting for it. Well Bill Gates probably saw Adobe Products and said hey this is cool, we should have this too, hence the birth of Expression Studio. They have their own version of Adobe Bridge, Premiere(ha! they'll never beat the stability of Premiere!), Dreamweaver, Flash, and Illustrator.
The speaker was
nangangapa pa with the software, a bad salesman selling his product to the wrong audience. The target audience for the seminar (the first day at the least) should have been designers. I was the ONLY designer in the room, they were all devs! False advertising!
Their website said the seminar's target audience was D-E-V-E-L-O-P-E-R-S.
I just so happened to go because my PM thought I should, since it was the
Flash Killer that they were introducing.
When Nix questioned the speaker why this mishap happened he answers "Ah kase a different person wrote the abstract".
WTF?! OMFG!? . . .
It was bad. bad. bad. bad. Even the food was bad.
Binagoongang Baboy at
carpentero-serving ng
kanin sa styro container. I didn't eat for fear of getting a bad stomach or allergies (gut feel was right, some people that went to the seminar had bad stomachs this morning).
Maybe Expression is better than what I saw yesterday (MS?! not!), but I don't think it's enough to sway me from my beloved ADOBE.
ADOBE for the win! x )
let me just end my rant with a couple of
key phrases from the speaker :
(He said these phrases because his pc was either too slow, hanging, sending random error messages or not doing anything at all)
->
What should happened here is...
-> Just imagine . . .
-> Ok so now this should...
-> My PC is acting up...
and my favorite line
-> ...you can keep running applications as long as your
hard drive can handle it.
@ _@ ZOMG!
oh, and he was doing all this using Vista. *evil grin*
